What people say

The best advert for our ADHD group sessions is the views of the people who’ve benefited from their support. Here’s just a handful of feedback about our monthly support sessions.

ADHD Aware is a very special organisation and I feel grateful to have found their support. I was very low before. Now, knowing I have a Zoom session coming up – with non-judgemental support and understanding – gives me a focus, and I always feel energised and hopeful after. It’s changed my life and continues to inspire me to improve and connect with the wider world.

Online Drop-In

In a world that sometimes looks alien and strange, the monthly meetings give me a safe space to share my experiences and feel less isolated. Meeting people who’ve experienced similar struggles helps you realise you can persevere, flourish and be well, as many others lead with example, which is reassuring and gives us all hope.

In-Person Drop-In

Finding ADHD Aware has made a huge difference to me. There is an overwhelming amount of information online about ADHD but a lack of understanding and acceptance in wider society. Attending the in-person drop-in validated my experience of ADHD and made it real. Sessions are warm and welcoming with kind volunteers who provided the support and information I needed.

In-Person Drop-In

Hearing stories and struggles from talented, bright and unique people inspired me back into education. Thank you ADHD Aware! I feel like I finally found my tribe!

In-Person Drop-In

Attending the drop-in sessions has been hugely beneficial in helping me understand my ADHD and recognising that neurodiversity is a wide spectrum. Others share their history, experiences and coping strategies which I find immensely useful.

It’s been great to know that I’m not alone in the struggles I have in managing my ADHD symptoms and really valuable learning more about other people’s experiences.

Online Drop-In

Monthly group sessions provide a shared space built around different topics. I learned about medication, types of therapy, coping mechanisms, dealing with family and books to read. Most importantly they provide the shared experience of having ADHD with others and hearing their stories. They helped me to process my emotions and to accept and value myself. What I’ve learnt has changed the way I relate to other people – most importantly, my family.

In-Person Group Discussion

Attending support sessions has made a tremendous difference! I’ve met people like me, made and sustained friendships, understood both myself and others and generally felt that I do have a place in the world, despite my neurodiversity. It's been invaluable. I am totally enthusiastic about it. Thank you so much!

In-Person Group Discussion

I was diagnosed at 74 after a lifetime of instinctively devising coping strategies and having no idea why I felt so out of step. Meeting this group of all ages has helped me understand the huge difficulties neurodivergent people face and how ADHD impacts our lives. As I live alone I find it very comforting to hear everyone else’s stories.
